The gull landed on the mermaid’s tail. “Lost, eh?” it chirped.
“No!” she snipped. “I am merely triangulating the position of the moon versus the magical fields along the ocean floor and the constellations. Shoo, I need to concentrate.”
“It does indeed sound complicated.”
“Very. Far too difficult to explain.”
“Only one problem.”
“Hrm?” the mermaid said, annoyed.
“It is daytime.”
The directionally challenged mermaid clucked her tongue and splashed the laughing bird as it flew away.
